Introduction to Film Sound Course
Taught by ESCAC within the OFF ESCAC program in collaboration with Outlabs Training
This intensive course is designed to introduce students to the fascinating world of cinematic sound. Through a practical and enjoyable journey from pre-production to the final mix, participants will understand the relevance of sound as an essential narrative element in any audiovisual project.

Program
MODULE 1: Introduction and foundations of cinematographic sound.
MODULE 2: Script analysis and pre-production sound.
MODULE 3: Direct sound techniques during filming.
MODULE 4: Sound post-production: editing and sound design.
MODULE 5: Final mixing and presentation of the practical project.
Objectives
Understand the fundamentals of sound recording on set, identifying the main technical and creative challenges that may arise in different audiovisual production contexts.
Apply appropriate microphone techniques depending on the type of scene, the location and the acoustic conditions of the environment, optimizing the capture of direct sound.
Analyze and adapt the acoustic environment of the shoot, recognizing its limitations and possibilities to improve sound quality, using practical tools and solutions.
Master the use of professional sound recorders, understanding their configuration, technical capabilities, workflows depending on the specific needs of the shoot.
Perform a sound analysis of the script, identifying in advance critical scenes, technical requirements, possible conflicts and specific sound needs, such as effects, environments, difficult dialogues or external sources.
Integrate knowledge of the filming space as a key tool to plan and execute an efficient recording, anticipating possible interference or sound problems.
Develop a decisive and critical attitude, with the ability to make informed technical decisions in the face of unforeseen events or adverse conditions, always prioritizing sound quality without interfering in the general development of the shoot.

Attendance greater than 80%
Presentation of evaluable final project
Access Requirements
Over 16 years of age.
Be a community citizen (hold the nationality of any of the EU Member States) or be a non-EU citizen residing in Spanish territory.
No specific prior knowledge is required. Aimed at beginners, professionals in other audiovisual areas or with an interest in sound or film design in general.

Conditions
Deposit payment of €50, which will be returned only if you pass the course.
To pass the course, the following two conditions must be met: attendance of more than 80% of the classes and a favorable evaluation of the final project.

Sound Technician, Designer and Postproducer
With a consolidated career in the film, television and advertising fields, he has worked internationally and has been a professor in ECAM's post-production master's degree. Their work ranges from sound design to on-set or field recording, providing a global vision that enriches and helps coordinate each project from start to finish, providing complete sound supervision from pre-production to final mixing.
