Tribute to Jose Luis Alcaine

WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

A living tribute to the career of the master of light, José Luis Alcaine, one of the most influential directors of photography in Spanish and international cinema. Recognized for his unique ability to transform light into a narrative and emotional language, Alcaine has collaborated with some of the biggest names in world cinematography, such as Pedro Almodóvar, Fernando Trueba, Vicente Aranda, Asghar Farhadi and Víctor Erice, leaving an indelible mark on more than 150 films. Throughout his career he has received multiple distinctions, including five Goya Awards for best cinematography, the National Cinematography Award in 1989, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2005 and the European Film Award for best photography in 2006 for Volver. In addition, he was the first director of photography to shoot a film in Spain with fluorescent lighting, which made him a technical and aesthetic pioneer in his field.
