Introduction to Colour Correction Course (Initiation)

Taught by ESCAC within the OFF ESCAC program in collaboration with Outlabs Training

This course trains the student to understand colour correction and grading, in DaVinci Resolve. Provides the knowledge to improve the visual aesthetics of projects, understand colour perception, create visual atmospheres, efficiently manage post-production, and export material with consistent quality in various formats and colour spaces.

Program

MODULE 1: Fundamentals and Colour Theory in DaVinci Resolve.

MODULE 2: Colour Management and Workflows.

MODULE 3: Primary Colour Correction.

MODULE 4: Secondary Correction and Advanced Techniques.

MODULE 5: Grade Management, Completion and Delivery.

Objectives

Improve the visual appearance, and bring cinematic images to life.

Understand the perception and technical reproduction of colour.

Apply visual narratives through colour.

Configure and manage post-production projects efficiently.

Ensure image quality faithful to the creative vision.

Export to different formats and colour spaces.

Evaluation

Attendance greater than 80%

Presentation of evaluable final project

Access Requirements

Over 16 years of age.

Be a community citizen (hold the nationality of any of the EU Member States) or be a non-EU citizen residing in Spanish territory.

This course is aimed at digital image technicians, editors, post-producers, directors of photography, filmmakers, camera assistants, and anyone who is interested in learning how to use a colour correction program, such as DaVinci Resolve.

To pass the course, the following two conditions must be met: attendance of more than 80% of the classes and a favorable evaluation of the final project.

PHOTOGRAPHY DIRECTOR AND DIGITAL IMAGE TECHNICIAN

He studied photography direction in 2000-2001 at Séptima Ars in Madrid.

He started working as an electrician, and then moved to the camera department, holding all the positions, and learning from the base in cinema and advertising.

In the last 12 years he has combined national and international series, both from DIT, as well as some of them as director of photography, specializing in productions shot in LED Volumes (Virtual Production)
