Steadicam Internationals workshops
The first “advanced workshop” given in the Canary Islands took place on the Island of Tenerife and featured the best instructors and the creator of Steadicam technology, Garret Brown, who delighted the students and international professionals in the audiovisual sector, with their presence and constant attention, providing them with advice, instructions and experiences related to the use of the Steadicam.
Taught at the “El Patio” Hotel located in Garachico, Tenerife, this international workshop had a small participation of students, specifically 16, and was spread over 5 days in “total immersion” mode to guarantee almost individualized teaching that provided both practical and detailed theoretical knowledge about Steadicam technology.

Known as the creator of Steadicam, he was one of the attractions of the course. The Philadelphia operator with 3 Oscars and several Emmy Awards has experience in more than a hundred films, among which 'Rocky', 'The Marathon Man', 'The Shining' and 'Return of the Jedi' stand out. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, the Directors Guild, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the Screen Actors Guild. Additionally, he was just inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

He is an Irish Steadicam operator with decades of experience in broadcast and film. In the early 1990s, he trained with the BBC in Belfast on the current affairs program Newsnight.
He is also the inventor of the Exovest, an ergonomic exoskeletal support harness used in Steadicam, and co-inventor of the Steadiseg, a Segway modified for Steadicam use.
